Franz Kafka, Adam Levine: The TRIAL
teatroNoD- Roxy, Tuesday, June 28 at 7.00 pm
The adaptation of this classic masterpiece is fully based on the original novel of Czech Jewish writer Franz Kafka. In the centre of this story is the divided character of Joseph K. - on one hand the confident bank manager, on the other hand the insecure boy looking for love. Adam Levine (adaptation and direction) follows him in his dreams of denial and trying to understand the reason why he is arrested. For JK this all seems real and hopeless, since one day no one is willing to believe him that everything is only a mistake. Is it just a dream and a construct of his bad conscience? The process is imbued with the mood of fear, guilt and helplessness, but that comes from working machine inexorably officials. It becomes an existential metaphor – JK, an ordinary clerk, who is happy in his work, but keeps an uneven fight with the mysterious and complex judicial court system. Joseph K. becomes a symbol of a desperate man trying to understand the unfamiliar and hostile world, which is surrounded by. Compania teater’s vision is to trigger the imagination of the audience to closely follow the surreal situations JK constantly finds himself caught up it.
