Possible relations in an empty space.
Couples, which lose control of themselves and the world that surrounds them, through sticking to each other.

They dissolve in unconscious existence: once in wild embrace, once clinging to their dreams, with playful shallowness, or keeping cold distance from each other, they try to master themselves and the others.

 „It was my birthday that day.  We were playing Lego in the big room at my party. We were building a huge Lego house. There were many of us. Many kids from the nursery school. Then, slowly the kids kept going out of the room, until I was left alone. Suddenly, a great big tiger broke the wall and said that I would be crying and that it would be very very bad for me….”

KOMPÁNIA is a little experimental theatre studio (founded in 2001) with its base in Hungary, functioning since 1999. It was founded by young actors, dancers and musicians, who finished their studies in the Mezei Mária Art School and the director of the school László Lukács, who leads the company as well. Since that time the studio gathers artists from various fields. Kompania is searching for new ways of expression, working methods, and comprehensibility means, whereby they could preserve and interpret their own heritage in a common wider cultural and historical context. The studio is seeking answers for questions that can only be found by exploring each other’s theatre and cultural traditions. Hence, international cooperation and experience is of a great importance. Kompánia has been running a project entitled Back to Babylon since 2004. Its goal is to create an international studio with mobility and long term cooperating partners. They were searching for the ways of theatrical expression over different languages, the common, universal coherence in communication (dance, music, gesture, human voice).Their starting point is to dip from the national traditions, roots and process them to contemporary art. Kompánia puts an emphasis on drawing energy and inspiration from authentic dances, traditions, folklore.
