Bia Szvat – Vestigium
Theatre Na Zabradli, Tuesday, June 29, 2010, 3 p.m.
Based on the Theatre of the Absurd and particularly in Samuel Beckett’s, Vestigium is a work in progress that shows two synchronized actors to tell the story of a woman’s abandonment, of an ambient where a social being is immersed in his daily life and absorbed in loneliness of individualism. It brushes contemporaneousness and its systematic removal from humanity with a minimalistic aesthetic, following rigid forms and a well-defined body score. Yet, it uses of poetic cyclical form to trace such path, to perceive the beauty between the installed shadows.
The Poli Theater Group (GTP), during its 60 years of history, is renowned for its strong humanistic and political
engagement. It has been based in the University of Sao Paulo (USP) and was a resistant to the military dictatorship in the last century. In 2003, the group started to revitalize itself, working non-stop ever since. Our research is focused on Antonio Januzelli´s Personal Theater and on Hans-Thies Lehman´s post-dramatic theatre. Nowadays, the group is composed of 100 performers, divided in six subgroups with different lines of investigation, in the Contemporary Theater context.
