The Prespork Theatre, Slovakia

Three Eves, three women, three generations of one family, whose fate is connected to one man – an artist – a painter.... Different faces of upbringing, sometimes limiting love, genetic base of talent for visual arts, revolt of the youngest Eva, Oedipus complex, because our characters are literally bind by the fate ... or is it just a coincidence? “The Unknown” represents this fate or coincidence element, which enters the story like “something unspecified” influencing and entangling relations. Characters hurt each other in spite of their goodwill.

Theatre chose the performance emerging from opera. The performance is created by actors, one dancer and one opera singer as well. It is the fusion of dramatic, opera, dancing, acting and scenic display in absolutely unique way. Besides other things, it involves appropriate voice and movement techniques as expressing tools of particular characters. Connect the display of an opera singer, a dramatic actor and a dancer resulting in compact image. It was difficult to find the name for genre of this type … “dramatised opera” is the most appropriate term. The important scene element is also projection, which communicates interactively with the performers.

Prespork Slovak Theatre is a young professional theatre on base of a civic association. It was founded in September 2003 by a group of actors whose main priorities are a freedom of creation, authorship plays and new ways of artistic expression. By a way of staging - dance, music, motion picture - tried to create a performance that will be played abroad and thus contribute to a positive presentation of Slovakia and its culture.
