Viola Baštýřová

Dramaturgist of festival APOSTROF, Prague

Viola Baštýřová (*1979) has worked as a Dramaturgist of International Festival of Independent and Amateur Theatres APOSTROF, Prague, since 2004. Since 2000 she has been a member of Theatre Lucerna MB - main organizer of APOSTROF festival.

As a Dramaturgist she is responsible for communication with theatres, that have applied for participation and she is also in charge of choice of individual performances to Apostrof’s program (in a cooperation with others festival’s leadership members). Her most important responsibility is the preparation of Festival’s catalogue, she runs communication with Medias and she is also in charge of PR strategy of the festival. As a member of Theatre Lucerna MB Viola Baštýřová acted in several performances (Zapomenutí pacienti, G’olash, Tma, Blázen a jeptiška etc.) and directed and participated as an author in PSYHO I and II projects.

Viola Baštýřová has worked for PR agency Native PR since January 2010. She works as an Account Manager; she is responsible for clients from financial, retail and automotive segment. Before she worked as an Account manager in PR agency Stance Communications (from October 2006).  She was responsible for clients from financial, research and human resource segments. From April 2005 to September 2006 she worked as an assistant in financial clients department for PR agency Crest Communications. From November 2003 she had worked for Independent production and TV studio BOX TV as a producer and screenwriter.

In 2002 she graduated from The College of Journalism in Prague (VOŠP), when she studied Cultural television journalism. She speaks English and her hobbies are contemporary art, reading of fiction, independent and Scandinavian films and theatre too.
